Association with CMS
Ph.D.

Epoch of Association
2005-09

Pre-CMS Education, Occupation, Field
I was doing my PhD at the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune.

Post-CMS Education, Occupation, Field
I am currently an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale University.

Curricula and teaching programmes

I think that CMS started with the right idea about teaching modeling and simulation. The course work was very creative and very hands-on. Almost everyone I know who was part of the initial setup is now a better data scientist for that.

Overall experience

The overall setup was excellent. We were hosted in the Computer Science Department, so the space was relatively small, but that also meant that you could interact with most faculty members in a single room. I liked the blackboards in the corridors and the terrace. Most of the issues that we faced were systemic and were resolved in spite of the system.

Impact on career and growth

A lot. All of my bread-and-butter-earning skills I essentially learned at CMS.
