Curricula and teaching programmes

The current curriculum designed at CMS has a right balance (considering interdisciplinary objective). However, I had a feeling that the curriculum can be made a bit more research oriented. May be by introducing a (master)research project (apart from the one semester of intern ship), right from very beginning. Depending of the carrier objective of the student, this project may be for industrial application (job oriented )or for the future research (publications).

Teachers

I wish to express my deepest gratitude to my teachers and friends at CMS, Prof.Mihir Arjunwadkar, Prof.Sukratu Barve, Dr.William Sawyer, Dr. Abhay Parvate, Absar, Anvesh, Ashwini, Gayatri, Maneesha and Neelakshi, etc as well as the technical and administrative staff who had enormous influence on my academic and personal life.

Overall experience

I owe CMS everything for where I am today in my academic carrier? In CMS I not only learned the skill set for to make my carrier in CFD and fluid dynamics, but also developed creative and independently think. Despite having no prior exposure to the programming languages and scientific computing, thanks to the curriculum and devoted faculty member, now I consider myself an expert in modelling and simulation.

Advice for current and future students

"Don't be scared of trying-Abhay Parvate" and "Try it yourself- Mihir Arjunwadkar". But if you are a current student you already know it :)

Which direction should CMS grow in?

Without any doubt CMS provides an excellent platform for research and development in many leading fields. However, I would like to see CMS reaching for zenith in interdisciplinary more advance research fields.
