This page is dedicated to the memory of Professor Padmakar V. Panat who
passed away at the age of 65 on the morning of January 20, 2009,
after a prolonged illness that stretched over eight months or so.
He was known to us as a physicist and teacher par excellence, as a fiercely honest and outspoken academician who stood for the values of academics, as a colleague, and above all, as a personal friend to many of us. He was a true teacher at heart: even during his illness, he was full of plans to teach subjects that he had not taught earlier. He spent the last two-and-half years of his life as Professor Emeritus at the Centre for Modeling & Simulation, SPPU. Almost till the end, he was engaged in collaborative research with people at the Centre. He was a constant source of inspiration and support to all of us. Below is a collection of personal reminiscences about Professor Panat. |
