Applications are invited for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) funded by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) (GOI-A-337B (174)), at the Department of Scientific Computing, Modeling and Simulation, Savitribai Phule Pune University. Appointment will be made as per availability of suitable candidates for the respective post. Please note that these posts are purely on temporary basis and for the stipulated project period.

• Eligibility & Necessary Qualification:M.Sc. (Physics and Materials Science) with exposure to solid state physics, condensed matter physics and some programming experience in Fortran, Python, C/C++ and/or Bash. Familiarity with Linux operating system (any flavors) is also recommended. Working experience in the field of computational materials science and ab initio electronic structure calculations would be a plus point.
• Work Description: The project is based on computational study of thermal transport properties at nano-scale in materials interesting for thermal barrier coating applications. Exploration of high temperature thermal conductivity models and code development would be undertaken.

Emoluments

• Rs 31000/- consolidated

• Initially up to 31 March 2022, likely to be continued for up to next 6 months depending upon the performance and/or continuation of the project.
