Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow to work on a 2-year DST-NSM funded research project in the area of HPC applications in Computational Materials Science. The hired fellow is expected to carry out code development on HPC architectures and should have interest in software development and parallel computing. The initial appointment will be for one year with extension based on satisfactory performance. Only students with a good academic record who have cleared or have appeared for NET/SET/GATE/PET/M Phil or an equivalent exam should apply.

• Eligibility: M.Sc. in Physics with Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science, Solid state physics, Quantum mechanics and Statistical mechanics courses from a well reputed educational institute with at least B grade or 55\% marks, good programming skills with Fortran or C/C++ on Unix/Linux and experience in numerical methods. Candidates appearing for final year degree examination in May-2021 are encouraged to apply.
• Desirable : Research experience in computational materials science, Good understanding of calculus. Experience in plotting data with visualization softwares. Experience with writing shell scripts, python programming and parallel programming will be an added consideration.

Emoluments

• Rs. 31000 + HRA as per DST norms
