Applications are invited for one Project Assistant (PA) under DST-INSPIRE Research Funding (GOI-E-210) at the Department of SCMS, SP Pune University. Appointments will be made as per availability of suitable candidates for the respective post. Please note that these posts are purely on temporary basis and for the stipulated project period.

• Eligibility: M.Sc in Physics (students awaiting final Semester results are also eligible) with strong foundation in computational physics, and condensed matter physics. Familiarity with linux operating system (any flavors) and Fortran/C++ is required. Experience with basic python/bash would be an advantage.
• Work Description: The project aims to build upon previous work on the dependencies in complex systems. In particular, efficient resource distribution in complex networks will be studied.
• About the group: Our group at SCMS, SPPU has an expertise in the structure and dynamics of complex networks and statistics. We have so far applied this expertise to things like polarization of social systems, spread of viruses and dependencies in real-world complex systems leading to their failure.

Emoluments

• Rs 30000/- per month consolidated

• Initially up to 28/02/2022, likely to be continued for next two years depending upon the performance and/or continuation of the project.

Selection

Candidates found suitable in preliminary screening will be notified via email, and will be requested to appear for an interview at their own expense. No separate interview call letter will be sent. Selected candidates are expected to join within one week of the date of the offer letter.
