Curricula and teaching programmes

The curriculum of CMS is designed with a very careful consideration to make the students both industry and research ready. The amount of maths covered during this course would help any student stand out with his concepts and problem solving abilities.

Teachers

The teachers at CMS are very helpful and extremely resourceful. They are very approachable at any moment of the hour. During the classroom sessions they tend us ask questions and scratch up our heads with assignments. The assignments that are designed really challenge students to think innovatively and come up with their own methods. The ideas and suggestions that come up from the students are very welcoming.

I have really enjoyed the eccentric style of teaching of Dr. Barve and Dr Pujari. This had always hooked me to the classroom teaching sessions. The assignments that are given to students by Dr.Mihir very well challenge the understanding and concepts of students. The problems that I worked during Dr.Jayaraman’s class have found its use cases in my daily job routine.

Overall experience

The quality and way of teaching that CMS imparts to students is very different than any college or university. The CMS premises is open 24 hrs and students are provided access to all the facilities in its premises. The academic environment at CMS is very conducive and research oriented. After going through the course rigor the student tend to develop a research caliber and define a fresh problem themselves instead of taking up presolved problems. After going through this course I do find myself a step forward in understading the technicality of the problem I am working on. The overall experience has helped to grow individually and broaden my perspective of computational modelling. The were few collective issues faced by the students but they were on priority resolved with proper discussions with the in house faculty. Over all the environment of CMS cultivate an academic maturity among students and you will understand grades does not matter for excellence.

Advice for current and future students

Just focus on the curriculum and assignments. Grades will not fetch you anything but your skills and adaptivity to new frameworks. Keep you projects updated you never know when and which assignment will come to use in your future work.

Which direction should CMS grow in?

The facilities that centre provides could pave a for very good industrial collaborations. This would help CMS grow in a direction as an individual research centre.
